What is a Credit Score and CIBIL Score?

A credit score is a 3-digit number ranging from 300 to 900. It tells any bank or NBFC how reliably you repay borrowed money.

In India, this number is generated by four credit bureaus: CIBIL™, Experian, Equifax, and CRIF High Mark. The most commonly referenced one is CIBIL, which is why most people call it their “CIBIL score.” But every bureau produces a score, and all of them matter.
